The South Mississippi Medical Alliance (SMMA) is an alliance to the physicians of the Hattiesburg area. We are not an independent organization but are a part of the American Medical Association Alliance (AMAA) and Mississippi State Medical Association Alliance (MSMAA).
Membership in the SMMA enables one to associate with one of the most constructively involved health organization in the community. It allows members to know and work with other physicians' spouses as well as have a voice in local, state, and national affairs of the SMMA, MSMAA, and AMAA. Members will received the SMMA DISPATCH, the local alliance newsletter, ALLIANCE CONNECTION, the state alliance newsletter, and CONNECTIONS, the AMAA magazine for and about physicians and their spouses.
The SMMA helps provide financial assistance to medical students, interns, and residents as well as support important scientific and medical research. Membership declares to the public that the doctor and/or his/her spouse is proud to be associated with his/her medical professional group and approves of its goals. It is both a privilege and a responsbility to be a member.
